Raspberry Cream Cheese Jalapeno Poppers – Super Bowl Grilling Series

The excitement is building, as we get closer to the Super Bowl.  Only four teams remain in the hunt, and there is only so much time to prepare the ultimate game day party menu.  Next up in the Super Bowl Grilling Series is Raspberry Cream Cheese Jalapeno Poppers, a sweet and salty take on tradition jalapeno poppers.  Filled with raspberry cream cheese and wrapped in thick bacon, these poppers are addicting and tantalizing.

Super simple to prepare, just remember to wear gloves and refrain from touching your face while assembling the poppers.  Begin by slicing jalapenos lengthwise and scraping out the seeds.  Fill with cream cheese and raspberry jam, and wrap in bacon.  Cook over medium-low indirect cooking to allow the bacon fat to render and not burn.  These poppers come off the grill salty and succulent from the bacon, sweet from the raspberry jam, creamy from the cream cheese, and spicy from the jalapenos.  These are a must addition to the Super Bowl smorgasbord, and will match the excitement of the game with each bite!

Serves: 4

Raspberry Cream Cheese Jalapeno Poppers Ingredients

  • 9 medium jalapenos
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup raspberry jelly
  • 18 slices bacon

Raspberry Cream Cheese Jalapeno Poppers Directions

  • Slice jalapenos in half lengthwise and clean out the ribs and seeds with a spoon.
  • Fill each jalapeno with a small spoonful of both the cream cheese and the raspberry jam. Wrap in a slice of bacon, securing the ends with a toothpick if necessary.
  • When ready to cook, prepare your grill for indirect cooking. If you are cooking on gas, turn the burner temperature down to medium low. If you are cooking over charcoal, pile the coals in the middle and arrange the poppers around the outside of the grill. If you are cooking with a pellet grill, set the temperature and allow the grill to preheat for 10-15 minutes before putting the poppers on. You are looking for a grill temperature of about 350 degrees F.
  • Grill the poppers with the lid on the grill for 25-30 minutes, turning as necessary to crisp the bacon. Serve immediately and enjoy!
