Country Gravy Breakfast Dogs Ingredients
- 8 Premium Beef Hot Dogs
- 8 Brioche Hot Dog Buns
- 1 lb Breakfast Sausage
- 2 Tbs Unsalted Butter
- 2 Tbs All-Purpose Flour
- 2 cups Whole Milk
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 tsp Big Swede BBQ Badass Texas Boost, or your favorite SPG rub
- Optional: Chopped Chives for garnish
Country Gravy Breakfast Dogs Directions
- Pre-heat your Summerset grill by igniting all main burners. Then close the hood and allow the grill to heat for 10 to 15 minutes; the hood thermometer should reach approximately 400°. Turn off all the knobs except one.
- Place a cast-iron skillet on the grill over direct heat. Add the breakfast sausage and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add the butter to the skillet and allow it to melt. Sprinkle in the flour and stir continuously until a roux forms. Cook for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Whisk in the milk slowly, then continue stirring until the gravy thickens. Season with black pepper and Texas Boost. Move the skillet to the cooler side of the grill to keep warm.
- Place the hot dogs on the grill over direct heat. Grill for 6–8 minutes, rotating frequently until evenly charred. Watch for flare-ups.
- Toast the brioche buns lightly on the grill for 1–2 minutes.
