We can tell you all the features of our products and why we think they are amazing, but when frontrunners of the home design industry, Drew and Jonathan Scott, feature Summerset products in their projects, we want to share the news. “What started as a single TV show has grown into an entire world of entertaining and remodeling—from the Property Brothers shows, to our production company, Scott Brothers Entertainment, to our ‘Builder Brothers’ children’s book series, and our Scott Living line of home furnishings and decor.” Drew and Jonathan have been entertaining and inspiring viewers for many years, and we find it incredible that they feature our grills and appliances in their projects.

Featured in their new show, Celebrity IOU, about Hollywood A-listers surprising impactful people in their lives with home renovation projects, the Scott Brothers help Rebel Wilson surprise her hairstylist with a transformed backyard. Having spent all her savings on her new home's purchase, Nicole was left with a backyard of dirt and no money. Rebel asked Drew and Jonathan to help transform the space into a surprise outdoor oasis.  With masterful expertise, they crafted a stylish and serene hideaway with distinct areas for entertaining and relaxing in a very modest footprint.

The state of the backyard was dry, unkempt, dead, and broken. The concrete patio had seen better days, any remaining vegetation was wilted except for weeds, and damaged concrete pads were weathered from whatever function they used to serve. They rebuilt the patio, created a dining space, and even included a pool area.

For a modern take on the grill island, they used a custom Summerset Grills kitchen island, Alturi 36” Built-In Grill, and Summerset outdoor rated refrigerator. The sleek gray open-air feel of the island perfectly flows with the tonal palette of textures and furnishings, while the stainless steel appliances are highlighted and complement the modern theme. "With this massive grill and prep area, they won't have to worry about running out of room while feeding everyone, and the combined dining and seating areas will give everyone a place to hang out and eat.”

The custom pool area features a built-in Firegear Kalea Bay Linear Outdoor Fireplace from Summerset Grills that brilliantly sets the mood for evening relaxation by the fire. The 6,500-pound prefabricated pool had to be hoisted by a crane into location while dodging powerlines and structures for a perfect fit, finalizing the oasis with refreshment on sunny days.

From start to finish, this backyard was transformed into a breathtaking getaway that Nicole and her husband are sure to enjoy for years to come, and we are so proud that the Scott Brothers allowed us to have a small part in their new life together.
