Cozy Americana Retreat, Lush Backyard, Grand Fire Pit, Stone Lover’s Dream in Illinois

Spending the day outside never looked so inviting as in this cozy Illinois neighborhood.  With an Americana theme, this large backyard has been transformed into a beautiful retreat for family gatherings or large events.  Surrounded by trees and grass, the designers from Serenity Creek Design & Landscaping used masonry features to add texture and strength. Two large gathering areas have been installed and tiled with large stone pavers.  The main seating area surrounds a grand fire pit finished with a natural stone veneer and several outdoor sofas.  Red and green pillows are used to add splashes of color to the gray stone and also matching the colors of the home and backyard.  The second large space, containing the outdoor kitchen and eating area, is made with the same stone pavers and veneer to tie the spaces together.

A long island houses the outdoor kitchen for creating fantastic barbecues throughout the year.  A built-in Summerset Grill divides the island with counter and preparation space on each side.  Matching stainless steel cabinets and drawers provide needed storage, while a built-in ice chest holds vital refreshment. The natural stone veneer gives the kitchen a rustic handmade look, while the gray tones allow the siding of the house to pop. The island is beautifully crowned with dark granite countertops that add sleek contrast to the gray and steel tones.  A round table finishes the space accented with bright green umbrella and cushions brightening the space.  Large and spacious, this backyard is a stone lover’s paradise ready to be enjoyed in every season.
