Watch the Scott Brothers Redesign Josh Groban’s Bandmate’s Garage and Create an Outdoor Living Space
Two of the most famous and talented designers on TV, The Property Brothers, always come up with new ideas for everyday problems. They recently teamed up with renowned singer Josh Groban on Celebrity IOU to do something life-changing for his friend and bandmate, Mark. Touring together for years, Josh wanted to do something special for Mark's recording studio setup showing its age. The Scott brothers were excited to help create an exciting, modern, and functional recording studio and workout space, even throwing in an outdoor renovation for his family to enjoy.

Celebrity IOU follows Hollywood celebrities as they give life-changing gifts to important people in their lives. Throughout each episode, Drew and Jonathan Scott helps one star per project transform a home into the perfect gift. In episode 10, they completely rebuilt and furnished the garage into a modern home studio and renovated the outdoor space with a full kitchen. We are delighted that the brothers included Summerset Grills in Josh Groban's generosity.

Mark's studio was an uninspiring ordinary garage crammed with gear and exercise equipment interspersed with standard family storage. Drew and Jonathan set out to craft a comfortable, creative space worthy of Mark's talent. They gave Mark a new studio equipped with all of the latest equipment to pursue his musical passions in comfort and then went one step further by refiguring the whole garage for noise-dampening so that he doesn't have to worry about outside noises on late nights. Utilizing natural wood, deep blue tones, and creative organizing, the Property Brothers crafted a beautiful space for Mark to find inspiration.
The backyard was in bad shape too, and Mark's old hot tub had seen better days in more ways than one. Josh and the Property Brothers helped give it a facelift by removing the old tile and resurfacing it with a new calming blue tile. They also installed new decking, marked with constellations of lights to light the way after a long recording session.

The outdoor seating area was covered by an old pergola that concerned Drew and Jonathan. "Mark's old pergola and outdoor seating area was so rickety, it looked like one little Southern California earthquake would knock the whole contraption over." They knocked it down to make room for a new structure with better shade, a dining area, and a complete outdoor kitchen the family can enjoy classic outdoor living in California's iconic weather.

For the new outdoor kitchen, the Scott Brothers started with a modern custom grill island, manufactured and built by Summerset Superstore's design team, providing plenty of room for appliances and prep and serving space. Bringing the heat, they used a Summerset Grills TRLD 44" Built-in Grill to deliver high-end performance and style for any event with the durability to last. The massive double outdoor refrigerator from Summerset Grills includes all the needed storage to keep ingredients and drinks cold and refreshing to combat hot, sunny days.
At the reveal, Mark was blown away at the results and the kindness of Josh, Drew, Jonathan, and the Celebrity IOU team. Thanks to the Property Brothers, Mark's family now has a first-rate studio that's big enough for his bandmates and guests and outdoor space where they can be refreshed and renewed. We are grateful to be a part of this project as the Scott Brothers worked their design magic to bring joy and inspiration to such a beautiful family.
